Hair loss has causes, and the useful first step is finding yours. At Leona in Al Malqa, Riyadh, thinning and shedding are assessed by consultants with dermatology training and a Canadian fellowship in hair disorders, before any course of treatment is proposed.
Shedding after an illness, patterned thinning, traction from styling, scalp inflammation and nutritional deficiency all look similar in a mirror and respond to entirely different treatment. Some need bloodwork rather than injections.
The first appointment examines the scalp and the pattern of loss, and asks about medical history, medication and how long the shedding has been going on. Only then is a plan proposed.
Where a regenerative protocol is appropriate, Leona works with exosomes, high-concentration platelet-rich plasma, in-clinic follicle stimulation, MCTM light plasma and M22 scalp stimulation, usually in combination and over a course of sessions.
Hair grows slowly, so honest timelines matter more here than anywhere else in the clinic. Most protocols are assessed over months rather than weeks, with photographs taken at intervals so change is measured rather than remembered.
Your consultant will tell you what degree of improvement is realistic for your pattern of loss, and will say plainly when a case is unlikely to respond.
Treatment plans and pricing are set at your consultation, once a consultant has assessed you in person. Sessions can be split into instalments with Tabby and Tamara.
Questions
For some patterns of thinning it helps, and for others it does not. Whether it is likely to help you depends on the cause and stage of your hair loss, which is what the consultation establishes.
Hair cycles slowly. Most protocols are reviewed over months, with photographs at intervals so any change is measured rather than guessed at.
Yes. Patterned and diffuse thinning in women is assessed and treated at Leona, and Dr. Sara Aldokhayel consults for women who would prefer a female physician.
Leona's hair work is medical and regenerative rather than surgical. If a transplant is the more sensible route for your case, the consultant will tell you.
